Meet the designer
The dynamic design metiér of Akshat Bansal (b. 1990; Hisar, India) stems from his early years with Indian heritage handlooms at his family store in Hisar, India and later his formal training at Central Saint Martins, London, and an apprenticeship at Saville Row.
His design preoccupation has been the notions of forms and tactile functions of fashion, to create a new standard of clothing that aids accessible cultural exchange. His perennial interest is in the unexpected material use, fusing the historical and indigenous with contemporary-future along with examining the protean nature of identity and perception.
